Salt Rock Express Rushes to Tenth Win of 2012

SALT ROCK, W.Va. -- Eddie Carrier Jr. continued his torrid mid-season pace in his #28 Grover Motorsports/Engines Inc./Rocket/Grover Racing Engine Super Late Model on Saturday night by scoring the $5,000 win at Lucky 7 Speedway.

For the second straight week Eddie would see a scheduled, doubleheader weekend reduced to a single event courtesy of Mother Nature as Friday night's $4,000-to-win event at Mountain Motor Speedway (Isom, Kentucky) was nixed by rain.

As a result the team entered a single event as they traveled to Lucky 7 Speedway (Whitesburg, Kentucky) on Saturday night for the $5,000-to-win, 3rd Annual Coal Miner's Classic. Twenty Super Late Models registered for action, and via preliminary action Carrier Jr. earned the seventh starting spot for the 50 lap finale. Early in the event he would work his way into the top five before progressively working his way toward the front of the field as he set his sights on the front runners, Chris Combs and Michael Chilton. With just ten laps to go Eddie made a daring three-wide pass for the lead. Once out front he never looked back on his way to the win, which was his tenth of the 2012 campaign!

The ante will increase this weekend, August 10th-11th, as Eddie makes the trip to Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) for the 30th Annual Sunoco North/South 100. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event will see many of the nation's top pilots battling for the $50,000 top prize on the black ice surface. The SPEED TV cameras will also be on hand to catch all of the action for a future broadcast. For more information on the event, please visit www.LucasDirt.com .
