Whitchurch, Reinolds, Worley, Bloom and Bellamy open Red Bluff with wins

RED BLUFF, Calif. -- Robbie Whitchurch turned an outside front row start into a feature win Saturday night as the Red Bluff Indoor Winter season for the Open Outlaw Karts opened. Dash winner Tyler Schaaf chased Whitchurch to the win with recent Win River 150 tour late model winner Ryan Foster in third. The Open Intermediate A Main saw dash winner Justin Reinolds dive underneath race long leader Micah Parmer on the final lap and score a photo finish win. Nevada's Tom Purcell ran third. QRC All Star Tour point leader Rudger Worley won the 125 Intermediate A Main from an outside front row start after earlier taking the dash honors. Heat winner Mason Moore finished a strong night with a 2nd and fast timer Kyle Larson was third. Keith Bloom Jr won the Box Stock A Main from the pole as Cycleland champion Brad Patchen ran second ahead of Derek Kennemore. After just making into the feature with a 4th place B Main run, Thomas Bellamy drove through the whole field to win the Beginner Box Stock A Main. Dash winner Tyler Seavey ran second ahead of fast timer Kellcy Bell from Nevada. The track debuted a new F200 division with four entries. Only the dash win eluded Clarence Marshall as set fast time, won the heat and the feature. He was second to Jeremy Zirkle in the dash and Keaven Seavey was 2nd in the feature race.

Infrequent outdoors racer David Wilson posted quick time for the 47 Open Outlaws at 8.922. Cycleland champion Daniel Becker was second quick at 8.959 and Brian McCain ran a 9.028. Jason Webb ranked fourth at 9.071 and Foster clicked off fifth fast at 9.096. Sixth quick Schaaf won the dash ahead of Foster and B McCain. The field was split into five heat races and a top two finish was required to advance into the A Main. Schaaf beat Steven Gannon in heat 1, Michael Hubert III edged out Pete Johnston in heat 2 and Oregon's Mike Wheeler won heat 3 over newlywed Beau Perkins. Whitchurch and Scott Burgess ran 1-2 in heat 4 and Tyler Schohr beat Foster in heat 5. The final 6 A Main slots were determined in a highly competitive B Main were B McCain won ahead of Webb, Oregon's Brandon Farquhar, Joe Shrock, Tyler McCain and Eric Gannon. Tyler Wolf beat E Gannon and Bryan Eady in the C Main and fast timer Wilson was relegated to the D Main after a tough heat race run. Wilson won the D Main ahead of Matt Menne and Mickey Franco. It was a tough night for D Becker as he ran 13th in the D to end his evening very early. The six fastest karts to advance through the heat action were inverted at the front of the A main grid, putting S Gannon and Whitchurch on the front row ahead of Perkins and Johnston. Whitchurch won with Schaaf coming row three to finish second ahead of Foster, Hubert III, Farquhar, B McCain, last starter E Gannon, Perkins and T McCain.

In the Open Intermediates, Brent Hamilton was quickest of 16 entries with a 9.050 clocking. Oregon's Chadd Noland had a 9.089 and Cycleland champion Richard Bailey from Napa ranked third at 9.096. Sixth quick Reinolds won the dash over Hamilton and T Purcell. Brett Miller beat Micah Parmer in heat 1 and T Purcell won heat 2 over Steven Rogers. In the feature race, pole starter Parmer led fellow front row starter Reinolds until Parmer pushed high in turn 4 coming to the checkered flag. Reinolds wheelied down the front stretch and nipped Parmer in a photo finish. T Purcell was third ahead of Miller, Noland, JoJo Helberg, Hamilton and Cody Braund.

Larson was the quickest of 26 125's with his 9.024 effort. Dillon Silverman continued his red hot recent efforts with second fast time of 9.052 and Moore clicked off a 9.267. Sixth quick Worley won the dash ahead of Derek Copeland and Moore. The top four from each of three heat races moved into the A Main. Larson won the first heat over newcomer Robert Marcos with Silverman edging out Klint Simpson in heat 2. Moore won heat 3 over Worley. Four more karts transferred up from the B Main where Nevada's MacKena Bell won ahead of Lakeport's Shane Theis, Jacob Park and Derek O'Bannon. The six kart inversion for the A Main put Jonny Lentz and Worley in the front row and Worley raced to the win ahead of Moore, Larson, Silverman, final starter O'Bannon, Christopher Phillips, Ryan Gomes and Park.

Jason Mittry was quickest of 34 Box Stocks with a 9.743 qualifying run. Tyler Reddick ran a 9.880 and Patchen a 9.935. Fort Jones long tow Andy Menne was fourth at 9.984. Sixth quick Jesse Taylor won the dash over Reddick and Menne. Four heat races moved the top 3 finishers into the A Main. Mittry beat Derek Kennemore in heat 1 and Chase Hill edged out Taylor in heat 2. Patchen and Jesse Red were 1-2 in heat 3 and Menne beat Ukiah's Andrew Anderson in heat 4. The top four from the B Main moved forward with Reddick winning ahead of Doug Kennemore, Leana Kenyon and Raymond Close. Seth Nunes beat Casey McClain and James Crowell in the C Main. Menne was an A Main scratch to leave 15 starters with Bloom winning from the pole ahead of Patchen, Derek Kennemore, Taylor, Anderson, Red and Nevada's Jennifer Purcell.

Red Bluff continues to have very experienced racers in the Beginner Box Stock class and Nevada's Kellcy Bell posted quick time at 11.044 over a 23 kart field. Tyler Seavey ran a 11.165 and recent Cycleland box stock winner Cyle Allison was third at 11.185. Cameron Bartlett and Logan Seavey rounded out the quickest five. T Seavey won the dash over Katina Baker. K Bell beat Bartlett in heat 1 and David Lee outraced Logan Taylor in heat 2. Allison and Tony Marcos were 1-2 in heat 3. The top 3 from each heat advanced and they were joined by the top four from the B Main. Wesley Dougherty won the B Main ahead of L Seavey, Katina Baker and Thomas Bellamy. Bellamy then charged from 13th starting to win the A Main ahead of T Seavey, K Bell, Devin Lee, Allison, Bartlett and Tanner Thomson. Marshall was easily the quickest of the four entries in the new F200 class as he ran a 10.486 lap compared to the 11.160 of second quick Keaven Seavey. Third quick Zirkle won the dash over Marshall. Marshall beat Gary Gabel in the heat race and the feature found Marshall winning ahead of Seavey, Gabel and Zirkle.

The indoor season runs five consecutive Saturday nights before taking a two weekend break for Thanksgiving.
