RED BLUFF, Calif. -- Having opened the December portion of the schedule with his first ever Red Bluff feature win, Mason Moore from Princeton continued his hot efforts by leading all 20 laps Saturday night to win the 125 Intermediate A Main event. Moore's strong 2003 season efforts included a 2nd place overall finish on the prestigious QRC All Star Tour. Fast timer Jonny Lentz chased Moore across the finish line and QRC All Star Tour champion Rudger Worley made up some ground on Red Bluff point leader Kyle Larson with a third place run. Red hot Keith Bloom Jr took full advantage of his pole starting position as he paced all 30 laps to score his fifth Box Stock A Main event win of the 2003-2004 season. The victory added to his point lead. Fast timer Jason Mittry ran second and dash winner Doug Kennemore capped his best Box Stock night with a third place run. Only fast time eluded Tyler Seavey in the Beginner Box Stock action as he won his heat, the dash and the 25 lap feature. He had timed in fifth quick. Jake Morgan continued his hot streak with a second place run ahead of Thomas Bellamy. Paul Baker also turned a pole start into a feature win as he led all 20 laps to win his fourth F200 main event. Robert Norman jumped into the kart that co-driver Kevin Seavey had won the dash in and wheeled it to second ahead of Kenny Bellamy.

The drivers were given another very quick racing surface after the one weekend holiday break. Lentz paced the 20 125's with his 8.521 lap that just edged out the 8.574 that point leader Larson had turned earlier. Nevada's MacKena Bell was third quick at 8.577 and Moore ran a 8.615. Ryan Gomes ranked fifth ahead of Dillon Silverman. Bell fought off a strong challenge from back row starter Lentz to win the dash. The three heat format advanced the top three finishers in each into the 20 lap A Main. Lentz rebounded from a front wall incident to place second behind Moore in the first heat race. Both Worley and Brandey Eiler got upsidedown in heat 2, but Worley rebounded to win ahead of Larson and Dillon Aldred. After leading the whole race, Shane Graham pushed high coming to the white flag in heat 3 and faded to a 4th place finish behind winner Michael Forslund, Bell and Cody Miller. After winning his 6th straight Chico main event, Justin Grant made the quick tow north to Red Bluff and arrived just in time to tag the B Main only to get involved in two crashes and be pulled off the track for the two caution rule. The top five advanced from the B Main and Graham won ahead of Amanda Reinolds, Silverman, B Eiler and Derek O'Bannon. Gomes also had a tough night, getting collected in incidents in both his heat and the B Main. Moore and Bell shared the front row for the A Main ahead of fast timers Larson and Lentz. The race was restarted after Bell, Worley and Lentz all got together on the backstretch. Moore took a quick lead over Bell, Lentz and Larson. Lentz grabbed second from Bell on lap 3 and Worley was up to 4th on lap 5. Bell pushed high on lap 7 and lost third to Worley. A second tangle took Graham out of the action on lap 8. Larson spun on the restart and got clipped by Aldred, who flipped. Larson ran the remainder of the event with a bent axle. The front threesome of Moore, Lentz and Worley checked out from the pack on the remaining rounds and the checkered flag was dropped early with Moore winning ahead of Lentz, Worley, Derek Copeland, Bell, O'Bannon, Forslund and Silverman.

Mittry was the quickest of 29 Box Stocks with his 9.935 qualifying run. Tyler Reddick turned in a 9.938 and Dustin Jenkins ran a 9.968. Also breaking into the 9's were Jesse Red at 9.970 and Doug Kennemore with a 9.982. It was just the second event for Red in the kart that Derek Copeland wheeled to the QRC All Star Tour championship. Former Beginner Box Stock champion Doug Kennemore got his first Box Stock dash win ahead of Red and Mittry. A four heat format advanced the top 3 finishers out of each. Bloom had timed in 9th quick and he won heat 1 from the pole ahead of Mitty and Doug Kennemore. Andy Menne beat Nicholas Bellamy in heat 2 and Chase Hill won heat 3 ahead of Cycleland champion Brad Patchen. Tristan Miller and Jacob Miller were 1-2 in heat 4. The B Main transferred the top four to the rear of the 16 kart A Main grid. Both Casey McClain and Leana Kenyon flipped in the B Main and Jenkins spun out of 2nd as Reddick charged to the win ahead of Ukiah's Andrew Anderson, Red and Jonathan Hoheisel as Wyatt Pruett got out of shape coming to the white flag and faded to a sixth behind R J Johnson. The six fastest to advance from the heat action were inverted at the front of the A Main grid and that put Bloom and J Miller on the front row. Bloom took a quick lead over Hill, Bellamy and Doug Kennemore. Riley Gomes crashed for a lap 6 yellow flag. Derek Kennemore stalled in an incident triggered when brother Doug Kennemore got of shape. A tangle between third place duelers Mittry and Bellamy got Bellamy upsidedown on lap 10. Mittry then passed Hill for second on lap 13 as Hill bobbled coming off turn 4. The two caution rule eliminated point runnerup Derek Kennemore when he got tangled with Menne on lap 18. Hill again bobbled coming off turn 4 and fell to fifth behind Patchen and Doug Kennemore. J Miller climbed the back fence, flipping spectacularly and getting hit by Reddick for the next caution. Doug Kennemore took third from Patchen as they raced to a lap 28 yellow flag. Bloom stayed out front all the way for the win with Mittry second ahead of Doug Kennemore, Patchen, Hill, Gomes, Menne, Anderson and Reddick.

Kellcy Bell was the quickest of 28 Beginner Box Stocks with her 11.251 effort. She has set fast time in 8 of the 9 races run on the 2003-2004 schedule. Morgan ran a 11.352 and Cyle Allison had an 11.414. Katina Baker was a half-second faster than anyone else in the first round of time trials with a 11.431, but didn't improve in round 2 and fell to 4th quick. Right after his father Kevin Seavey won the F200 dash, fifth quick Tyler Seavey drove to victory in the Beginner Box Stock dash. This class limits it's feature action to 12 karts so only the top two in each heat advance. T Seavey won heat 1 over Bryce Perry. After Tony Marcos crashed with a lapped kart leading heat 2, Wesley Dougherty won ahead of Morgan. Thomas Bellamy beat Allison in heat 3 and K Baker won heat 4 ahead of Logan Taylor. Bell won the B Main ahead of David Lee, fast improving Chase Majdic and Marcos. Tanner Thomson gained the C Main win when Brandon White and Lain Baker crashed late in the race dueling for the win. Thomson just missed a transfer out of the B Main with a fifth. Lakeport dominator James Edens joined the action and ran second in the C Main ahead of Brittany White and Brandon White. A four kart inversion for the 25 lap A Main put T Seavey on the pole and he charged into the lead over Allison, K Baker and Morgan. Morgan raced into third on lap 2 and Taylor was fourth a lap latere. Morgan maintained third despite spinning on lap 7 and the yellow dropped on lap 9 when Taylor lost his gas cap. Bellamy raced into third on the restart, but was penalized back to sixth for a jump when Bell spun for a lap 11 yellow flag. Majdic passed Morgan for third on lap 12. T Seavey lost the lead to Allison on lap 15 as he slowed to avoid a spun K Baker. When T Seavey made a contact pass on leader Allison to retake the top spot on lap 20, Allison was forced high on the track and spun after making contact with the end of the wall in turn 4. A tangle with Dougherty cost Majdic a second place finish as T Seavey won ahead of Morgan, Bellamy, Allison, Bell, David Lee, Perry and Taylor. The officials also reviewed and altered the finish for the December 20th finish, penalizing the drivers who were in the last lap incident. Dougherty was moved up to 2nd place ahead of Bellamy, Taylor, Marcos and T Seavey.

Jeremy Zirkle continues to dominate time trials for the new F200 class as his 10.654 lap paced the 9 entries. He just nipped the 10.676 of teammate Gary Gabel and Alyssa Hogan was third quick at 10.883. Point leader Clarence Marshall from Predator Motors ranked fourth at 10.900. K Seavey won the dash ahead of Bellamy and Marshall. Baker got out of shape leading the heat race and fell to a third place finish behind winner Zirkle and K Seavey. The main event went 20 rounds without a caution and Baker was never headed. Norman jumped into the kart that he shares with K Seavey and ran a race long second. Bellamy took third from Hogan on lap 7 and Marshall ran fourth. After Mike Reinolds wheeled the kart in the heat action and time trials, Mike Larson drove their entry to a fifth in the feature ahead of Zirkle and Hogan. Melissa Morgan made her division debut.

The Jan 10th race will see the drivers in all classes dueling for one year's possession of the track's six foot tall perpetual trophies.
