 by Race AuthorRED BLUFF, Calif. -- Running out of time in his bid to overtake Kyle Larson for the 125 Intermediate track champion, QRC All Star Tour champion Rudger Worley enjoyed a huge night on Saturday as he won the A Main after earlier capturing the dash, timing in 2nd quick and finishing second in his heat race. Larson finished second in the main event and saw his point lead cut to 38 points by Worley with just events on Feb 14 and Feb 21 remaining on the schedule for the Red Bluff Indoor Winter Season. Derek Copeland was third in the main event and Lakeport champion Noel McCormack adapted quickly to the Red Bluff action with a heat win and a fifth in the feature race. Easily turning the quickest laps in the race, Chase Hill won the Box Stock A Main ahead of Tyler Reddick and Andrew Anderson. Anderson had started 15th in the 16 kart lineup. Fourth ranked Logan Taylor got his first ever Beginner Box Stock A Main event win as he fended off the challenge of point leader Kellcy Bell and 12th starter Wesley Dougherty. Cyle Allison picked off a 4th and goes into the final two races just 16 points behind Bell. It was also a big night for F200 point leader Clarence Marshall as he won the main event and set fast time for the new division. He was the only kart to break into the 9's in the feature race and Alyssa Hogan got her best feature finish with a 2nd behind Marshall. Sarah Olson joined the action with a 3rd place run.
Having turned himself into a qualifying expert, Jonny Lentz paced the 19 125's with a 8.584 qualifying run with Worley second at 8.684. Ryan Gomes had a 8.707 and Shane Graham nipped Larson for fourth quick. Worley came from the back row to win the dash ahead of Gomes and Larson. The top five in the two heat races advanced into the A Main and Dillon Silverman beat Gomes in heat 1. McCormack had timed in sixth quick and he won heat 2 ahead of Worley and Mason Moore. Mackena Bell won the B Main ahead of Amanda Reinolds, Andrew Cumpton and Jacob Park. Fifth place finisher McCormack actually had the fastest lap time in the A Main action with a 8.922 lap. Winner Worley's best lap was 8.994 and runnerup Larson had a 8.092. Copeland ran third ahead of Gomes, McCormack,Graham, Silverman, M Bell and Moore. Moore fell 35 points back of Worley, but enjoys a 44 point margin on Lentz. Gomes is now just 4 points back of Lentz and 3 ahead of Silverman.
Jason Mittry was the quickest of the 33 Box Stocks with a 10.459 lap on a very wet track. Jacob Miller had a 10.495 and R J Johnson tied for third with Nicholas Bellamy at 10.526. Fifth quick Reddick won the dash ahead of Mittry and Johnson. In this division, the top 3 finishers advance from the four heat races. Hill timed in 9th quick and won heat 1 over Wyatt Pruitt. Jesse Taylor beat J Miller in heat 2 and point leader Keith Bloom Jr won heat 3 ahead of Doug Kennemore. Cycleland champion Brad Patchen beat Dustin Jenkins in heat 4. With four transfers available in the B Main, N Bellamy won ahead of Mittry, Anderson, Andy Menne and Jesse Red. Earlier, David Chaves won the C Main ahead of Braedon Enos and Mallorie McGahan. Derek Kennemore lost ground in his battle for 2nd in points by finishing 6th in the B Main. The quick laps in the A Main were nearly a full second faster than the time trial runs as Hill clicked off a 9.774 best in his A Main win. Reddick finished second ahead of Anderson, Doug Kennemore, Menne, Casey McClain and Dustin Jenkins. Bloom had the second quickest lap in the A Main at 9.840, but settled for an 8th place finish. He came out of the night with a 81 point lead on Mittry. Reddick moved past Derek Kennemore into third, 34 points back of Mittry and 8 ahead of Derek Kennemore. Hill is fifth in points.
The Beginner Box Stocks also timed on a very wet track and Bell's quick time of 12.003 paced the 25 entries. Chase Majdic had a 12.202 and Allison ranked third at 12.209. Allison beat fifth quick L Taylor and Jake Morgan in the dash. Bell beat L Taylor in heat 1 and Morgan won heat 2 ahead of Majdic. Allison and Thomas Bellamy ran 1-2 in heat 3 and Tony Marcos beat Devin Lee in heat 4. Tyler Seavey won the B Main ahead of Lakeport champion James Edens, Brandon White and Dougherty. Again, the A Main action saw laps a full second faster than the time trial runs as winner L Taylor had a best lap of 11.080. K Bell settled for second, but had the quickest lap at 10.954. Dougherty's drive from 12th to 3rd saw him click off a 11.059. Allison ran fourth ahead of T Seavey, Morgan, Edens and T Bellamy. T Seavey is third in points, 46 behind Allison and 79 ahead of L Taylor. Dougherty moved into fifth, just 3 points ahead of T Bellamy.
Marshall was the quickest of the 11 F200's with his 10.744 qualifying run, again on the very wet track at the beginning of the long day. Jeremy Zirkle ran a 10.858. Hogan was third quick ahead of Kenny Bellamy. Wheeling the kart that he shares with Keaven Seavey, Robert Norman won the dash honors ahead of Marshall and Zirkle. James Matson was the heat winner ahead of Mike Larson and Norman. In the feature, Marshall's quick time improved to 9.937 as he outraced Hogan, Olson, Zirkle, Larson and K Seavey. Paul Baker had a tough night, timing in 9th quick, missing the heat action and finishing last in the 11 kart feature. Marshall is 62 points ahead of Zirkle with the Seavey-Norman combination another 57 points back in third.
