RED BLUFF, Calif. -- Having quickly adapted to the Red Bluff race track in his first month of competition there, Lakeport champion Noel McCormack closed the 2003-2004 Winter Indoor Season Saturday night with his first 125 Intermediate A Main feature win. He timed in third quick, ran second to division champion Kyle Larson in the dash and won his heat race. Rudger Worley's attempt to overtake Larson for the point title fell just short as he ran second in the feature ahead of fast timer Jonny Lentz. Larson finished off his championship year with a 7th place run. Young Jacob Miller posted his first career feature win in the Box Stock A Main as he clicked off a quick lap of 9.510 to edge out former champion Derek Kennemore and current titlest Keith Bloom Jr. Young Nevada female racer Kellcy Bell finished off her Beginner Box Stock track championship year in dramatic fashion as she set fast time for the 12th time in 14 races, placed second in both her heat and the dash and then won her fifth main event. Cyle Allison made her work for the title as he started the night just 15 points back. He timed in second quick, won his heat and beat her in the dash. In the feature, he ran second ahead of Bryce Perry. The F200 feature went to Karl Pavlik ahead of track champion Clarence Marshall and Mike Larson.

Time trial expert Jonny Lentz was quickest of the 21 125's with his 8.563 clocking. Dillon Silverman again impressed in his new kart with a 8.615 and McCormack ran a 8.665. QRC All Star Tour champion Worley was fourth quick ahead of Larson and Mason Moore. Double division racer Mackena Bell just missed the dash in 7th slot. She did win the Open Intermediate dash from the pole. The three heat format advances the top 3 from each heat. Lentz beat Worley and Bell in heat 1 and Andrew Wiley won heat 2 ahead of Larson and Silverman. McCormack outraced Ryan Gomes and Moore in heat 3. Female racer Amanda Reinolds won the B Main ahead of Klint Simpson and QRC All Star Tour Box Stock titlest Derek Copeland. Ashley Eiler and Andrew Cumpton also transferred into the A Main. McCormack not only won the A Main, but he turned the quickest lap of the race at 8.704. Worley ran a 8.899 enroute to his runnerup finish. Lentz was third in the main event ahead of Silverman, Moore, Bell, Larson, Gomes and Wiley.

Jason Mittry was the quickest of the 37 Box Stock entries with a 9.433 lap. That easily paced the 9.643 of second quick Chase Hill. Tyler Reddick ran a 9.648 and Nicholas Bellamy was fourth ahead of Derek Kennemore and Bloom. Bloom turned the pole start into a dash win ahead of Derek Kennemore and Reddick. This class advances the top three finishers from the four heat races. Dustin Jenkins beat Derek Kennemore in heat 1 and Hill edged out Nevada's Jennifer Purcell in heat 2. Riley King won heat 3 aheads of Seth Nunes and Reddick. Cycleland champion Brad Patchen won heat 4 ahead of Bellamy and Casey McClain. A sixth in his heat race forced Bloom to run the B Main which he won ahead of Andy Menne, Mittry, Doug Kennemore, Riley Gomes and Braedon Enos. Miller had timed in 10th quick and a 3rd in his heat moved him into the A Main. His 9.510 feature lap was the quickest of the field and the excited winner finished ahead of Derek Kennemore, Bloom, Jenkins, Menne, Mittry, Hill, Doug Kennemore and Reddick. Derek Kennemore had a best lap of 9.590.

K Bell was the quickest of the 28 Beginner Box Stocks at 10.657. Allison clicked off a 10.840 and David Lee ran a 10.949. Also breaking into the 10's were Perry, Chase Majdic and Thomas Bellamy. Back row starters Allison and K Bell dueled for the dash win with Allison coming out on top. Majdic beat K Bell in heat 1 and Allison outraced Bellamy in heat 2. Logan Taylor won heat 3 ahead of David Lee while Katina Baker won heat 4 ahead of Perry. Tony Marcos won the B Main ahead of Devin Lee and Logan Seavey. Jake Morgan beat Alyssa Rose and Brandon White in the C Main. The K Bell-Allison duel for the track title continued into the A Main where K Bell's quick lap of 10.422 produced her fifth win. Allison clicked off a 10.490 best enroute to second. Perry ran third and Taylor was fourth ahead of Devin Lee, David Lee, K Baker and L Seavey.

The new F200 class drew a season high 17 entries and have been added to Lakeport's indoor finale on Feb 28. Young Alyssa Hogan posted quick time at 9.811 to easily pace the 10.068 of second quick Steve Goodridge. Keaven Seavey had a 10.113 and Jeremy Zirkle a 10.127. Track champion Clarence Marshall was fifth quick and he won the dash ahead of Goodridge and Zirkle. Marshall beat Mike Doss and Hogan in heat 1 and Goodridge won heat 2 ahead of Zirkle and James Matson. Pavlik won the feature honors ahead of Marshall, Larson, Hogan, Zirkle, Doss, Kevin Acosta, Gary Gabel and Ashley Lusk. Larson had taken the lead with just a couple laps remaining only to have a red flag for a flipping kart revert the standings back.

The Red Bluff banquet is set for March 13 and the awards for the QRC All Star Tour will also be given out that night.
