RED BLUFF, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2003) - Making the long tow from the Medford, OR area for every Red Bluff event, Chadd Noland kept alive hopes for the 125 Intermediate track title with a feature win ahead of dash winner Tyler Wolf and Steven Rogers. Point leader Matt DiBenedetto ran 4th. After timing 3rd quick, placing 4th in the dash and 2nd in his heat, Anderson’s Derek Copeland won the Box Stock A Main with six foot trophy winner Jonny Lentz a close second ahead of second ranked Keith Bloom Jr. Point leader Brian Southers was fourth. Having qualified for the A Main with a win in the B after being forced into the wall in his heat, Corning’s Tyler Reddick celebrated his birthday in grand style by charging to another win in the A Main for the Beginner Box Stocks. Reddick opened the night with fast time honors and the big night left him with a 19 point lead over Casey McClain. McClain finished sixth with Trevor Tennison second ahead of Jason Mittry and Nevada’s Kellcy Bell. Tyler Reddick was born on 1-11, his sister was born on 11-1 and you will always find the #11 on the cars fielded by his father Clarence and Tyler.

Second ranked Brett Miller was the quickest of 25 125’s with a 9.050 lap. Steven Rogers ran a 9.261 and DiBenedetto had a 9.277. Noland ranked fourth at 9.280. Sixth quick Wolf won the dash from the pole with Mason Moore second. The field was split into three heats with the top four in each advancing to the A Main. Ryan Gomes from McKinleyville won the first heat over six foot trophy winner Nic Helwig with Noland third. Double division racer Brent Hamilton won heat 2 with Cody Miller second. Alan Ambers and Wolf ran 1-2 in heat 3 with DiBenedetto third. B Miller just missed the cut out of his heat, but won the B Main with Christopher Phillips second over Derek O’Bannon as female racer Amanda Reinolds claimed that last transfer spot. Noland was the A Main winner ahead of Wolf, Rogers, DiBenedetto, Gomes, C Miller, Moore and Richard Bailey. DiBenedetto’s point lead is 21 over B Miller, 28 ahead of N Helwig and 37 ahead of Noland.

For the third straight race, Dustin Jenkins was the quickest of 31 Box Stocks with a 9.865 lap. Bloom ran a 10.065 and Copeland ranked third with a 10.115. Lentz and Brad Patchen rounded out the quick five. Sixth fast Brian Southers won the dash with Lentz second. Three heat races advanced the top four from each. Dillon Silverman won the first heat ahead of Jenkins. Patchen and Bloom were 1-2 in heat 3 and Southers won heat 3 ahead of Copeland and Raymond Close. Defending track champion Derek Kennemore raced his way into the A Main with a B Main win ahead of Chase Hill, Robert Tophan and Andy Menne. Andrew Anderson won the C Main with Jesse Red second over Cory Lyon. Both feature winner Copeland and runnerup Lentz are sons of former Shasta Speedway track champions and Bloom ran third ahead of Southers, Patchen, Jenkins, Nevada’s Mackena Bell and Kyle Larson. Southers ended the night 29 points in front of Bloom with Lentz another 19 back in third.

Reddick dominated time trials for the 34 Beginner Box Stocks by turning a 11.346 lap with his Corning Ford sponsored mount. Wyatt Pruitt ran a 11.518 and Tyler Seavey was third at 11.536. Nicholas Bellamy ran a 11.578 and Tristan Miller ranked fifth. Sixth quick Cameron Bartlett won the dash with Pruitt second. This class limits their fields to just 12 entrants so the four heat races each transfer just 2. K Bell beat Thomas Bellamy in heat 1 with Reddick only managing a fourth after his wall contact. Pruitt and Braedon Enos ran 1-2 in heat 2 and Nevada’s Jay Primm won heat 3 ahead of Jacob Miller. Point runnerup McClain took heat 4 with N Bellamy second ahead of David Lee. The highly competitive B Main was won by Reddick ahead of Tennison, T Seavey and Mittry. Jonathan Hoheisel won the C Main ahead of Bartlett and Matt Morrison. Jake Morgan and Bailey Crowell ran 1-2 in the D Main. While Reddick amazed by coming from 9th starting to the lead in just six rounds and winning the A Main, Tennison duplicated his effort by coming from the fifth row to place second. Mittry started last in the 12 kart field and ran third ahead of Bell, Primm, McClain, Pruitt and J Miller. While Reddick holds just the 19 point lead over McClain, third ranked N Bellamy is now 88 points out of first. For the second straight race, Reddick’s Predator built engine was torn down and found legal.
