SUSQUEHANNA, Pa, -- Because of the continued rain at the speedway and the forecast for more to come this evening, racing at Penn Can Speedway was cancelled Friday night. Racing will return next Friday with a special program for our young fans. Next Friday will be Kiddie Ride night at the track. Modifieds, 602 sportsman, street stocks, factory stocks, 4 cylinders and Xcel 600 modifieds will all be in competition.

With racing winding down for the 2012 season, points battles are really heating up with only a few nights of racing left on the schedule. In the modified division Brett Tonkin continues to show the way in the modified division over Joey Grammes and Mike Colsten. Alex Stanton, Butch Green, and Grant Hilfiger are battling in the 602 sportsman. The tightest battle is in the street stocks with Earl Zimmer holding a small lead over Ryan Stone, Steve Deinhardt, and Ken Sparks.

For more information about racing at Penn Can Speedway call the track office at 570-585-9928 or on the web at www.penncan.com. The speedway is located on Route 171 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania just a short drive from both the Binghamton and Scranton areas. The speedway is sponsored in part for the 2010 season by great corporate partners including Don’s Automotive Mall, Gary’s U-Pull-It, Pump-N-Pantry Stores, Trackside Products, Pine Line Auto, NEP Telephone, Hornbeck Chevrolet, American Race Tires, and VP Race Fuels.
