LEBANON, Ore. -- It will be another busy weekend at the Willamette Speedway as three events are scheduled for three consecutive days over Father’s Day weekend. The weekend kicks off on Friday June 15th with the Karts first race of the season, classes featured Kage Karts, Speedway Flat Karts, and Micro Sprints. Saturday night June 16th the 1/3 mile will host the DirtCar Super Late Models, Sportsman, Classic Sportsman, and Mini Trucks in action. No USRA Modifieds will be on hand due to the beginning of the Wild Wild West Modified Shootout in southern Oregon.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday June 17th with the 12th Annual Tuff Truck and Trash Car Competition. This event will start earlier at around 1:00 PM and will be a little cheaper to get in (prices listed below). This event is historically well attended and is a great place for families to spend their Father’s Day.

The DirtCar Super Late Models look to return to action after Jeremy Shank captured the Strawberry Cup to become the most recent winner. Joining him in 2012 in the win column is Russ Sell, Rob Mayea, and Casey Vitale so far this season. The Sportsman division has seen Danny Altom capture the most wins this year with two but Brian Winkler and Todd Miller both are looking to tie him this weekend.

Classic Sportsman competition has been dominated by Kyle Yeack lately as he has won the last two features in the classification. Adam Walker and J.J. Irvine are the only two other drivers to win this season in the division. Mark Vonsil is the first Mini Truck winner of this year as the class has only had enough cars to run one race this season but it appears the numbers should be up in the coming weeks.

On Tuesday June 19th the Wild Wild West Modified Shootout will return for what is scheduled to be the third round of seven for the 2012 edition and will feature Kenny Schrader racing alongside the USRA Modifieds. A lot of cars are scheduled for this event as it will pit the best drivers in the Northwest at the Willamette Speedway for one night.

The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and has been regarded as the “Late Model Capital of the Northwest” for many years and is anxious to host fans with the vast upgrades and improvements done over the 2011-12 winter. The venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and the American Sprint Car Series-National Tour along with weekly action comprising of DirtCar Late Models, USRA Modifieds, Sportsman, Classics, and Mini Trucks.
