Reults from Harris Speedway
HARRIS, N.C. -- In the second event of the season fans got to see 9 divisions of racing as the regular eight classes were ran and the Dwarf car division was added to the schedule.
In the Renegade division Chris Jackson led flag to flag en-route to his first win of the season. Josh Burgess followed Jackson for the entire race and finished a close second. Jackson and Burgess were protested after the race and after post-race inspection both cars were declared legal.
In the Young Guns class Kyle Fowler took the win leading all 12 laps. Casey Towell and Kenny Pearson battled for the runner up spot. Towell took the position on lap 4 and held on until the checkered flag flew.
In the Stock 8 class Wally Fowler made it two in row as he led from start to finish to take the win. Timmy Smith took the 2nd place for the second week in a row. Josh Hoots edged out Dustin Taylor to take the 3rd place finish. Taylor finished 4th with Jackie Foster rounded out the top 5.
In the Stock 4’s, Sam Brown took another 1st place finish to the bank making it two in a row. Brown won the Johnson Memorial the week prior. Kevin Cooper finished 2nd bettering a 5th place finish from the previous week. Brandon Lambert came across the line in 3rd place after a DNF in the heat race and having to start from the rear of the field in the main event.
In the Super Stock 4 Donnie Atkins took the win over Ray Storay, Kevin Cooper and Joe Gibson. On the last lap of the race Ray Storay’s car began to slow. Storay beat a hard charging Cooper to the line by only a few inches to hang onto to a 2nd place finish.
In the Pure Stocks Dustin Morris took another win as he led flag to flag in the caution free event. Chris Jones held off Josh Ayes to take 2nd and Carl Harris held on to take 4th.
In the Front Wheel Drive class Aaron Limbaugh jumped out front at the drop of the green to lead the first lap of the race. Jacob Bridges moved to the outside groove on the second lap and took the lead and never looked back en-route to the win. Limbaugh held onto the 2nd spot until lap 8 when he went pitside with engine trouble. Brain Barnett took 2nd place over John Williams and Brandon Swink.
In the Dwarf cars BJ Cochcroft took his first ever win at Harris Speedway over #57 of David DeBusk and Richard Ezy. Bradley Silvers and Dalton Senn rounded out the top five.
