Touring Series & Sanctioned Divisions: Classic Auto Racing Series Tracks·Points
The Classic Auto Racing Series is an exciting, affordable professional stock car racing series featuring replica 1932 and 1934 Ford and Chevy coupes and sedans. Formed in 1996, the traveling series competes at both the asphalt and dirt oval tracks from one-quarter mile to one-half mile in length throughout the the state of Florida. In 1999, a fan survey rated CARS the second most popular traveling series in Florida, second only to the outlaw sprints.
Twenty or more competitive events are held each year to determine the CARS series champion. A special Rookie-of-the-Year competition is conducted for new drivers. Special events are held during Speedweek in February and Thanksgiving weekend, attracting several classic cars from northern states. An awards banquet is held each December to crown the new series champion and award points money, trophies and prizes to drivers.
CARS has a unique handicapping system that ensures exciting, highly competitive races. In 1999, our series yielded nine "first time" feature winners.
