RISING CITY, Neb. -- The racing program at Butler County Motorplex did not work as planned for the night. Threatening rain early in the day and hot sunny weather later in the day caused a shortened night after drivers voted to run double features next week due to track conditions.

Zach Reicks won the first of two IMCA Northern Sport Mod heat races. Kevin Betzen was second, Jesse Sobbing third and Brad Brabec fourth. Dion Kovar controlled the second heat with a win as Kevin Kloke took second, Nelson Vollbrecht was third and f ourth went to Denny Berghahn Jr.

Nic Hitz won heat number one in the IMCA Sport Compact Class. Hunter Wergin took second followed by Jordan Uehling and Trevor Pacena. Justin Hitz won heat number two with Levi Stoakes, Erica Cronin and Justice Colson rounding out the top four.

Mike Densberger won heat number one in the IMCA Modified division. Shane Stutzman was second, Dylan Smith took third and Chad Andersen was fourth. Scott Styskal won heat number two as Mike Stearns, Shane Hiatt and Kenny Danley rounded out the top four positions. Scott Bivens won the third modified heat race. Jacob Anson took second followed by Chris Alcorn and Jason Gaver.

IMCA Hobby Stock driver Lee Kracht took the honors in the first of two heat races. Jay Poessnecker finished second with Jason Kohl and Branden Wergin rounding out the top four. Tiffany Bittner took the win in the second heat race. Brady Fernau managed to get second with Lonnie Greuter third and Shannon Anderson was fourth.

The fans received passes to return next Friday to watch the double features after the shortened program. The makeup feature lineups have been saved and will be used for those features. Promoter Jacy Todd apologizes for the way things turned out and hopes the fans appreciate his sincere efforts as it was car pool night.

Butler County Motorplex would like to remind all racers and fans that “The Need for Speed Week” begins Monday night as the Poweri Midgets - SLMR Late Models - $300 To Win Hobby Stock races are scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm. Wednesday night will feature All Star 410 Winged Sprints, $1000 to win IMCA Modifieds, $200 to win Sport Compacts. Friday night will be the regular show with double features in all classes which includes IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Northern Sport Mods, IMCA Hobby Stocks and IMCA Sport Compacts.
