Tuesday, July 6, 2010 'The Knoxville 2010 Experience' Still Space and Tickets Available
by Bob Altman, Racing Fans Direct
MANCHESTER, Md. -- It’s now only a month away, from what should be the most exciting Knoxville Nationals fan experience ever commemorating the 50 th Anniversary of this race. I still have some available space, so you don’t want to miss this event, do you ? Really!
This year the Celebration itself, added distance to the race of 50 laps, allot of new events are planned to make this a special occasion. The race will be this distance for the first time ever in its history, new special apparel, new events at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame daily and other events in the town itself. I do suggest if you can attend the races before the 4 day nationals, do so. The ASCS 360’s, the USAC wingless 410 sprints,& two days of racing at nearby Oskaloosa, IA promoted by Terry Mc Carl are races to see.
I have attended The Knoxville Nationals for 13 years and know how lucky I’ve been to experience the sights the sounds, the races, the food, the National Sprint Car Hall Of Fame, making new friends, drivers from all over the country, the hotel staff, the midway at the track, the crowd coming into the track on race nights, the motorcycles lined up outside the track, and just the rush you get when they enter the first turn at every race during the week and even before the nationals four day events begin.
There is just so much to see, to experience, yes you can cover most of these things in two days but you never get tired of walking by the many things you’ve already encountered at the Knoxville Experience. It is more then just the races, it’s a happening --its Knoxville.
It is the racing experience of a lifetime that you don’t ever forget while taking in the races at night, you can visit the local Go Kart races at the track outside of town during the day, or take in what is probably the biggest fair anywhere, at The Iowa State Fair where they say 100,000 people from all over the US and some foreign countries attend daily. A drive through the town of Knoxville itself that has a certain flavor to it not seen back home in your town.
It is an experience that I’ll never forget or get tired of, because it is racing businesses, drivers, teams, racing vendors, and fans coming together in one place for 4 or 10 days and nights. I can only suggest that you make plans for either the 50TH Annual Running of The Knoxville Nationals in 2010 or the complete 10 days of racing at Knoxville and Oskaloosa that fits your vacation schedule, for it is “ THE KNOXVILLE EXPERIENCE “. This is why I truly endorse this week of racing, as it is like no other in sprint car racing that I’ve attended.
