RFD Must See Races in 2010, Part 4

by Bob Altman, Racing Fans Direct

MANCHESTER, Md. -- I want you to get the most for your money in 2010, that is why I’m selecting the upcoming races below.

These are my selections as must see races for there cost value, close racing, real events,& possess overall excitement.

July 20 - Lernerville Speedway, Sarver, Pa 410 Winged races featuring The World of Outlaw drivers, going up against the local and Pa Posse drivers in 2 -30 Lap features, a good value for fans, this is a first fans by the WoO.

July 23 -24 - Williams Grove Speedway Summer Nationals featuring the exciting Pa Posse Versus The World of Outlaws stars - Posse leads this series July 31 --K C Raceway, Chillicothe, OH --USAC NON-WING race, this is an exciting 3/8 th track and this promoter cares about fans, as he is bringing a lot of variety to his weekly fans, a lesson can be learned from
Mr. Schrader the promoter here at K C.

August 8 -15 -The 50th Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, it’s really a four day event, but I suggest to attend August 8 for the USAC NATIONALS NON-WING races, then take in the races at Oskaloosa the next two days for winged 410’s and the USAC Non Winged races, this race was unbelievable last year, was probably the best race of the week. I also suggest you stay over an extra day in case of inclement weather.

September 18 – Selinsgrove National Open, Selinsgrove,Pa The 1st Annual Jim Nace Memorial 44 laps winner could win up to $ 26,000, this is always a great race and event.

September 25 -- Lincoln Speedway --Kenny Weld Memorial race, a new date but a great race and value at 40 laps most all the Pa Posse will be here for this one

Oct 1 –2 - Friday & Saturday - Williams Grove National Open 40 laps $ 50,000 to win, The battle continues between the Pa Posse VS the World of Outlaws, this is still a good race, but was a better race years ago

Oct 9 -- The Hank Genztler Memorial race - Hank’s Auto Parts ) he started the business, always had time for everyone – Lincoln Speedway, near Hanover, Pa, prizes for fans and driver’s alike. Don’t miss it if you’re in Pa
November 4-5-6 --Fans, there are two races on the same dates, the choice is yours but here are the races & facts.

Perris Auto Speedway, Perris, CA -USAC/CRA Budweiser Nationals,non-wing 410 sprint cars, last year this was one of the most exciting races of the year by all accounts of what I heard from people who were there, close racing and only one division
World Finals @ Charlotte Dirt Track, Concord,NC 410 winged sprint cars, late models & NY style modifieds, a new division added with the modifieds, now this puts in more qualifying time on Thursday night, no racing just qualifying, then racing three divisions on two other nights. I am sorry fans, I can’t recommend the World Finals this year too many divisions, too much qualifying,& they will tear the track up for all divisions, they need a better format, racing all three nights or going back to two divisions with less qualifying.

So I have recommend the Perris races over World Finals, for value, better racing, and less qualifying, it is facts as I see it, nothing to do with personal choice it is how it looks as a racing value for you.

There maybe other races that you may know of, to offer better value but these choices are from my own personal attendance in accordance to my location and what I know of.

Please consider my suggestions for savings, value, great racing and you’ll have a great time. You can reach me at racingfansdirect@bigplanet.com or 443-974-7027 Thanks Fans for your support of racing, Bob Altman.
