 by Tom Ervin
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- Ewing Township driver John Kazmierski claimed the final checkered flag of the 2011 Modified Outlaw Micro Stock racing season Sunday at Wall Stadium. After winning his heat race, the 71 year-old Kazmierski started from the pole and went on to lead every lap. Tom Ervin applied pressure to Kazmierski the entire distance, pulling alongside several times but was unable to complete the pass. Harry Burd put in a strong run to round out the top three. Rookie driver Jason Burd put in his strongest run of the season by finishing fourth while maintaining pace with his father. Marty Kendall returned to Modified Micro Stock racing after many years to claim fifth as a substitute driver for his father Fred who is recovering from knee surgery. Veteran M.O.M. driver Denny Hiddemen returned to the M.O.M. ranks for the first time this season. At the start of the feature event Denny charged from last to challenge Ervin for second before dropping out with driveline failure at the halfway point. The #90 K&K Express driven to victory by Kazmierski is sponsored by K&K Industries of Ewing Twp., NJ, Al’s Sunoco of Pennington, NJ, and Trenton Hot Rod Shop of Trenton, NJ.
