TOOELE VALLEY, Utah -- If you like your racing served up with a healthy dose of dirt, adrenaline and high-flying action, this is your time of year at Miller Motorsports Park.

This Saturday, June 16, Round 2 of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series – Utah will take place on the Off Road Short Course at Miller Motorsports Park. As part of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Racing Series, the Utah Region joins the Southern California and Arizona regions and the Arizona Short Course Championship in promoting and developing grassroots short-course off-road racing.

Simultaneously, the third annual Teraflex All-Jeep Show will take place on Saturday at the Rock-Crawling Course adjacent to the Off Road Short Course. Every type of Jeep you can imagine will be on hand for this event, and in addition to the “show” aspect of the event there will also be Jeeps running on marked courses on the Rock-Crawling Course.

Also on Saturday at the Miller Kart Track will be Round 2 of the four-round Icebreaker Kart Championship presented by Sunoco Race Fuels. Karters will be competing for trophies and points in their respective classes. The championship has 12 classes, based on age and engine size/type. Ages range from five to 65; and the karts can range in top speed from 25 mph to 95 mph, depending on class.

A very special fund-raising event will be taking place on Saturday evening, as Miller Motorsports Park hosts “Racing to the Stars.” This fun-filled evening supports Clark Planetarium’s mission to inspire wonder in learning about space and science. Proceeds will benefit Clark Planetarium’s astronomy field trips and outreach program to schools across Utah, which serves over 75,000 public school children each year at no cost to them.

This weekend’s amateur off-road action paves the way for next weekend’s third annual visit by the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, the last major event of 2012 for Miller Motorports Park. Some of the biggest names in off-road racing, such as Utah’s Jerry Daugherty, Carl Renezeder, Curt LeDuc and Rob McCachren, will be joined by a galaxy of stars from various action sports including Jeremy McGrath, Brian Deegan, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, Carey Hart and, making his off-road racing debut, skateboarding legend Danny Way. The weekend will kick off with a VIP pre-party with many of the racers at The Hotel nightclub in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday evening at 9:00, with racing action on tap at the track on Saturday and Sunday.

Next weekend will also include CruiserFest ’12, a celebration of the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser, at MMP’s Rock-Crawling Course. CruiserFest activities will include the Grand Opening of MMP’s new Land Cruiser Heritage Museum, which houses an amazing collection of Land Cruisers from all over the world owned by Greg Miller, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.

Tickets for this weekend’s event are priced at $6 per day for adults, with kids 12 and under free of charge. Tickets for next weekend’s Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event are priced at $30 per day/$50 weekend for adults, $10 per day/$15 weekend for kids 6-12 and kids 5 and under free of charge. As always, military personnel are eligible for a 50-percent discount on tickets.

To obtain tickets for or information about Miller Motorsports Park, visit the track’s website at www.MillerMotorsportsPark.com or call 435-277-RACE (7223).
