Thursday, June 21, 2012 Valenti Modified Racing Series Ready for Lincoln Tech Race at Stafford

CANAAN, N.H. -- Previous Stafford winners, defending series champion, Chris Pasteryak, of Lisbon, CT., and all-time leading winner Ted Christopher, of Plainville, CT., leads the list of expected entries for Friday nights 2nd annual Lincoln Tech 80 lap race at Stafford Motor Speedway, Stafford, CT.
The Valenti Modified Racing Series sanctioned race is scheduled for June 22.
Pasteryak won at Stafford last year, the first time the Pasteryak name visited victory lane at the famed half-mile oval. Christopher captured his first VMRS win two seasons ago and he hopes to put legendary car owner Joe Brady’s # 00 car in victory lane again.
Current series point-leader Jon McKennedy, of E.Chelmsford, MA., a two-time winner this season, will drive for Hall of Fame car-owner Art Barry. Pennsylvania hot-shoe Rowan Pennink, of Huntingdon Valley, and Louie Mechalides, of Tyngsboro, MA., are expected entries.
Mike Holdridge, of Manchester, CT., and Norman Wrenn, of Nashua, NH., both off to a solid start will also compete.
Other veteran drivers expected include, Les Hinckley III, of Windsor Locks, CT., Doug Coby, of Milford, CT., Jeff Malave, Manchester, CT., and Todd Owen, of Somers, CT.
The VMRS has several young drivers on the 2012 roster that have made their presence known and are expected to enter. Tommy Barrett, of Millis, MA., Max Zachem, of Preston, CT., Timmy Jordan, of Plainfield, CT., Mark Bakaj, of Lebanon, CT., and Geoffrey Gernhard, of Salem, CT., are expected.
Stafford Speedway weekly divisions are also on the card
Fridays race program starts at 5:15 PM with feature events slated for a 7:00 PM post time.
