ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- For the second consecutive year, Checkered Dreams, a racing charity for seriously ill and disabled children, will be one of the charities of choice at Motorsports ‘07 in January. Presented by VP Racing Fuels, the show, which runs from the 12th of January through the 14th, will be gigantic, as it will be held at a new location- Atlantic City, NJ.

During the three-day event, a slew of racing memorabilia will be up for auction at the Checkered Dreams booth. However, the most popular item by far isn’t up for any auction. It will be raffled off from tickets that are currently being sold. The winner is chosen through a raffle ticket drawing on the last day of Motorsports ’07..

For the 10th consecutive year, a one of a kind fireman’s helmet with a NASCAR driver’s autograph will be up for grabs. The uniqueness of the item is that there are only two in the entire world. Yes, only two! The driver chosen for the year will keep one of the helmets and the other will go to the raffle winner.

This season, NASCAR star and comedian, Kenny “Herman” Wallace was chosen for the honor. While at Martinsville, VA in October, Checkered Dreams president, Sue Ziegler met with Wallace to hang out and witness the signing of the two pieces.

The nine other NASCAR stars which Herman will now share honors with are: Richard Petty, Darrell Waltrip, Rusty Wallace, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Sr, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Bill Elliot and Michael Waltrip.

Raffle tickets will be available at Motorsports ’07, and are currently available through the Checkered Dreams website at www.jackie88racing.com. Ticket prices are $1 a piece, or six for $5.

Ziegler noted that she has been receiving a number of auction items from many teams over the recent weeks. Items such as shirts, standees, pictures, crew shirts, sheet metal, etc. will make up the booth for the ’07 Checkered Dreams Motorsports auction. For a complete up to date list of auction items, along with more information in regards to Checkered Dreams and Motorsports ’07, please keep an eye on www.jackie88racing.com
