Cruising to Third at Cornwall

LONG SAULT, Ontario, Canada -- A busy stretch of racing north of the border shifted to Ontario on Sunday for Craig Dollansky and the rest of the World of Outlaws as Cornwall Motor Speedway played host to their first ever appearance by 'The Greatest Show on Dirt'.

A field of 22 drivers signed in for battle at the ¼-mile as the current World of Outlaws point leader piloted the Big Game Treestands Maxim to the 2nd fastest lap in qualifying at 10.311 seconds. Lining up fourth on the grid for heat #2, Dollansky raced into 2nd by the completion of the 10-lap race to transfer into the dash. An eight pill drawn for the dash then started the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 in seventh and went on to finish 6th.

In the 40-lap A-Main the Elk River, Minnesota native started outside row three. As the field rumbled into turn one Dollansky narrowed the gap on Lucas Wolfe for fifth and took the position the following lap. Working the highside, 'The Crowd Pleaser' then battled with Chad Kemenah until lap 7 when the MobileStar #7 claimed fourth exiting turn four. Dollansky continued to make his way to the front eight circuits later taking third and then closed in on the lead duo shortly after the halfway point.

After momentarily taking second on lap 26, a great battle proceeded with Kraig Kinser until 9 to go when 'The Crowd Pleaser' again used the highside to steal the runner-up spot. Following the only caution of the feature on lap 32, the Eaton's Aeroquip Performance Products backed sprinter shuffled back a position three laps later but held 3rd before the checkered flag flew as Dollansky recorded another strong podium finish for the fourth time in the previous six events.

"We got into fourth fairly early and then got into lapped traffic after taking third. It was a tight little race track but anytime we get on these short tracks I enjoy them," explained Craig. "There was stuff going on all over the track. We were in second at one point and felt pretty good right there with Donny. On the restart Steve had a great race car and a good race going but we aren't going to hang our head on third place, hopefully the Canadian fans enjoyed the race."

More racing in Ontario awaits the Big Game Treestands #7 team on Tuesday at Ohsweken Speedway.
