WINCHESTER, Ind. -- Bob Sibila and Jason Thompson overpowered the fields in their respective races for wins at Winchester Speedway’s Family Fun Day. Sibila took home the hardware for the Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman, Family Fun Day 40, while Thompson earned the win in the CRA Street Stock Family Fun Day 40.

Bob Sibila and KC Spillers were the last cars left on the lead lap as they ran away in the caution free Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman event. Tommy Cook took the lead from the green flag and held on until Sibila moved past on the third lap with Spillers right behind him. As Sibila set a torrid pace with Spillers never more than a few car lengths behind they lapped the field. Cook finished third, Josh Timmerman fourth and Brian McFadden fifth.

"The crazy thing is we are putting a new car together and I will probably only run this one only one more race." Sibila stated. "This will be a good backup car, beat up as it is. It has been a good old car."

Sibila also won the heat race after a crash that severely damaged Jason Atkinson’s car. Atkinson started the feature but could not bring it up to speed with the right side body missing and pulled off after only one lap.

Sibilia took home the All Star Performance Fast Qualifier Award, the Turn One High Performance Steering Lap Leader Award, and the AFCO Racing Products Hardcharger Award.

In the CRA Street Stocks event JJ Schafer took off from his front row starting spot to take the lead, while Jason Thompson, worked to past the second place car of Jimmy Kirby. After Thompson passed Kirby he easily moved into first place. Once he had the lead he started to build a large lead as the others following fought to get past the very tough Kirby. A caution on the 24th lap brought everyone back together and gave Brian Hopkins a chance to start beside Thompson. It was to no avail as Thompson took off and despite slowing at the end Hopkins was unable to catch him as Thompson cruised to the victory.

"The car was really fast, I have to thank my crew, my family, my daughter and my cousins for helping get it ready." Thompson stated. "It seems that there is a caution whenever I am in the lead, I guess that is my bad luck. But I knew Brian (Hopkins) would race me clean and I just needed to keep it straight on the track."

Dustin Burge earned the All Star Performance Fast Qualifier Award. Thompson won the Turn One High Performance Steering Lap Leader Award. Kevin Claborn and Kirby won the heat races.
