READING, Pa. -- "Electrifying" Elvin Felty led a long list of drivers appearing Saturday to conclude the 25th Annual Racing Legends Reunion & Car Show presented by Reading Eagle and WEEU 830 AM.

The inaugural Penn National Speedway Reunion presented by LLANDCO Inc. was a fitting finale to the weeklong event at the Fairgrounds Square Mall on 5th Street Highway.

Penn National, the Grantville, Pa., oval originally built to resemble the Reading Fairgrounds, hosted its final race in 1996.

Felty drew a buzz from the large crowd on hand while discussing memories of Penn National with announcer Jeff Ahlum. Felty was a 45-time Penn National Speedway winner -- second on the all-time win list to Billy Pauch -- and owned four track championships in the modern era of the 'Aristocrat of Race Tracks.'

Colorful car owner D.A. Hanson drew laughs from those in attendance as he reflected on his years with drivers Smokey Warren and Pauch.

The first ever winner and champion at Penn National, Jim Keppley, discussed the track's early days, while the final champion Jeff Strunk passed along his wish that Penn National was still holding regular events. Strunk recalled running 87 events in a single season during the Tri-Track days.

Tom Mayberry, Craig Von Dohren, Mike Nicholas, Kerry Meitzler, Roy Wiest, Eddie Miller, 1985 Street Stock champion Art Bair, former Street Stock championship owner Glenn Moyer, Bruce Young, Russ Delp Jr., Jack Reifsnyder, Barry White and John Willman were among those on stage.

Bob Stull, Mike Feltenberger and Galen Koller, all former officials at Penn National, discussed their memories of the track.

Pauch, Penn National's all-time leading winner with 65 Sportsman-Modified triumphs appeared at the show on Wednesday as part of the Modified Madness program presented by Reading Plastic Fabricators to discuss his memories of racing at Penn National.

A room adjacent to center court featuring the Kerry Meitzler No. 3k, Penn National memorabilia and racing films from Penn National drew the attention of show attendees throughout the week.

With 113 race cars on display all week and nightly activities drawing crowds, the 25th anniversary of the Racing Legends Reunion & Car Show was a resounding success. Plans are in the works for a 26th edition in February 2011.
