INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The foundation for the success of Championship Off Road Racing over its first eight seasons has been the relationship between the CORR Lucas Oil Series and the tracks that host the series.

The short course off-road tracks in Antigo (Wisconsin), Bark River (Michigan) and Crandon (Wisconsin) will continue their tradition of bringing the CORR Lucas Oil Series in 2005 to the fans in the Midwest.

“We are proud of CORR to continue the long and enduring relationship with these three great tracks,” noted CORR President Marty Reid. “Our fans love these facilities as do our racers and sponsors.”

The Antigo Kiwanis Club will host Championship Off Road Racing June 11-12. The Bark River Lions Club will host the CORR Lucas Oil Series event August 13-14. The Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run at the Crandon International Off Road Raceway will take place June 25-26, and the BorgWarner World Championships will be Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3-4 at the same facility.

“Antigo, Bark River, and Crandon are the ‘ABC’s’ of off-road racing,” said Reid. “The sport would not be where it is today without these great facilities and the talented people who run them.”

For more than 20 years, the city of Antigo has hosted off-road racing. During that time, racing, including Championship Off Road Racing, has been an integral fabric in the lives of the community.

“Not only does it (the CORR Lucas Oil Series) utilize the race track at the Langlade County Fairgrounds, it is a tremendous boost for the businesses of Antigo,” said Ronn Krueger of the Antigo Kiwanis Club. “We are fortunate to have a great relationship with CORR. All money that is earned goes back out into the community.”

Both Crandon and Bark River signed deals with Championship Off Road Racing for dates in 2006 as well. The Crandon International Off Road Raceway celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2004. The Bark River Off-Road Raceway has hosted off-road racing for over 25 years.

The rich history of Crandon and off-road racing continues to bring more and more fans and sponsors to the facility. The tracks continual growth over several years has made it a racing icon in the off-road community.

“Our track just came off the biggest season in our 35 year history,” said Cliff Flannery, President of the Crandon International Off Road Raceway. “I have watched this sport grow from backyard racing to club racing to CORR and feel the entire sport is on the verge of making the next big step with even more live fans, more Series sponsors and more drivers. CORR has shown stability and steady growth over the years and the Crandon Raceway is highly pleased to be part of CORR’s growth and the Lucas Oil Series TV package on Speed over the next two years.”

After expanding their camping area in 2004, the Bark River Off Road Raceway recently grew by another 20 acres, with more land purchased for the facility.

“We know where the future is going,” said Richard Ault with the Bark River Lions Club regarding the signing of a two year extension with CORR. “We can plan on improvements and invest into the track. This will also help with sponsorship for our events,” he said.
